Web Writing Info Review

Posted on 11 October 2007 by Sharon

I found Web Writing Info when owner Courtney Ramirez dropped by to leave a comment on my blog. Being the curious soul that I am, I immediately popped over to have a look - and I liked what I saw.  The blog design is clean and crisp, making it easy to focus on the posts, and there are some great ones there.

For example, there’s How To Gain Experience Without Getting Paid Peanuts,  a post that offers some useful tips for newbies. Then there’s How To Get Google To Do Your Research For You, which talks you through setting up Google Alerts. I’d also like to highlight What’s Your Specialty, Courtney’s entry into the issue of whether to specialise or generalise.

This seems to be a relatively new blog, as all the posts date from September onwards. It focuses on online writing, which is where Courtney earns her crust. The post titles get your attention and I like her writing style, so it’s one to watch.  I’ve added it to my growing list of writing blog RSS subscriptions.  Check it out - you won’t be disappointed.

I run into Courtney regularly on a forum I visit daily and she has a lot of wisdom on the subject of writing.

I recently gave her a link on my site for her free report on helping to break into freelance writing as well. It’s a very good read!

  2. Sharon Says:

Thanks for the tip, Dana. I’ll check that out.

  3. Courtney Says:

Thanks so much for the review Sharon! I’ve been posting there since the beginning of summer, but I’ve earned a new admiration for those writers like you who manage to blog everyday! :) Whenever I think of something helpful I start to write it down as a blog post.

  4. Sharon Says:

That’s a great approach, Courtney, which keeps you from getting stale or running out of ideas. I’ll look forward to reading more of your posts.

Courtney does have a super blog! I’ve been watching her blog titles and trying to learn from her how to write more eye-catching titles myself. ;)

Glad you like it, Jeanne. Stumbleupon and visiting other people’s blogrolls are a winning combination for finding new blogs.

Yes, they are! And following other respected bloggers’ recommendations for posts they’ve enjoyed is a great way to find good blogs, as well!

    Thanks again!

Ohh more goodies! I’m starting to struggle under the weight of my blogroll. So many fantastic “writers about writing” blogs to keep up with and so many more I’ve never come across. Like this one by Courtney. I’ve just added her to my RSS reader and in a way I’m glad she’s only begun recently because it means I can go back into her archives without getting lost. :-D

  15. Sharon Says:

Lol, Rebecca. I know what you mean :) Sometimes it can be hard to find the information you want on a well established blog.
