Promotion Tip: RSSHugger

You can file this under ‘things I didn’t do when I should have’. I heard about RSSHugger months ago and somehow I never got around to signing up. The premise is simple. For the price of a review on your blog, you get a page where you can promote your RSS feed and your blog.

This is the brainchild of Collin LaHay (I’ve written some posts for him over on Mixed Market Arts.) The idea is that anyone with a quality blog can have the chance to promote the blog free and get more subscribers and more traffic. For once, you don’t have to install a widget.

There’s a neat feature where you get additional promotion if you make it into the most trafficked blogs each month. The counter resets at the start of each month to give new bloggers a chance. I’m going to try this, and I’ll report back later on whether I’ve had any success with it. It looks good so far.

Check out my page here. By the time you get there, I should have added my feed and some categories. See you there. :)

  1. Nice to see you using my idea, but just for clarification, I sold the site in January.

At any rate, the site is now PR5 and helping a ton for link building purposes.

  2. That wasn’t clear on the site, Collin, so thanks for the clarification. I’ve been working my way through your linkbuilding guide. I can’t believe I’ve only just found it.
